May 2026 (Week 1–2): Smarter Search, Faster AI & Platform Updates
Improved search results, a faster and smarter AI assistant, a more reliable Chat Centre, and a range of Admin portal improvements.
The first two weeks of May brought meaningful improvements to search, the AI assistant, the Chat Centre, and the Admin portal.
Smarter Search on the Mini Program
Students searching for properties on the Mini Program will now get noticeably better results. The search engine has been upgraded to understand the meaning behind a query — not just match exact words — so students are more likely to find the right property even if they don’t type the perfect keyword. As they type, matching words are now highlighted in the suggestions dropdown, making it faster to pick the right option. More property and location details are also included in search than before, so fewer results fall through the cracks.
AI Assistant
- Faster, more accurate responses: The AI assistant has been upgraded to the latest model across all organisations, delivering more relevant answers and noticeably snappier replies.
Chat Centre
- File uploads are more reliable: Attachments sent through the Chat Centre are now retried automatically if the upload hits a hiccup, reducing failed sends.
- Enquiry details appear automatically: When a chat contact has a linked enquiry, their details now pre-fill in the contact panel — no more manual lookups.
- Easier setup: The Chat Centre now configures itself correctly on first use, removing a step that previously required manual setup by the team.
Admin Portal
- Raising an issue is now quicker: The Submit an Issue / Change Request button now opens a support form directly inside Admin, so you never need to leave the platform to report a problem.
- Transparent images display correctly: Logos and icons now show against a checkered background in the image manager, making it easy to preview them before publishing.
- Managed Services: You can now add a new Hours Purchased entry directly from the dropdown without navigating away.
Bug Fixes
Several fixes were shipped across the Admin portal this period, including corrections to image display, campaign link formatting, university profile images, and a save bar that was appearing unexpectedly. No action is needed — these have all been resolved.
